Metal Effects

The make for Wednesday 7th April is metalized (is there such a word). I decided to have a day just using metal effect beads and chain. I am not entirely sure where this idea came from but after fiddling around with the beads and chain I came up with this as the finished article. It has three different shades of metal and the beads and chain seem to go really well together. I am really happy with it, it has quite an edgy feel and I am hoping that lots of different people like it. Let me know what you think. It is called the Ball and Chain.

Links Galore

My make for Sunday 4th April (oh my god I am so behind, watch out for mass postings - hopefully - over the next couple of days) was a linking necklace with hot pink, black and metal beads. Each bead has been strung on a eye pin and then each eye pin has been linked together with a jump ring. This takes a little longer than simple stringing but it is quite satisfying when it is finished. I have called the necklace Hot Pink Links.
As a small bonus I even made a pair of matching earrings.

Through the Looking Glass

Last Saturday, while running the stall one lady explained that she was looking for a simple necklace with pendant to wear with an outfit for a night out. This has been playing on my mind all week and although I had no way of knowing for certain if she would turn up I decided to have a go at trying to produce something she might like. All the clues that she gave me were, not too big a pendant, not too bright colours and classy but simple. So on Friday night I sat down and came up with this. Very pale pink beads, almost see through combined with silver effect ribbed beads and then finished off with a diamante heart pendant. Unfortunately the lady did not return to the stall this Saturday, so I have no idea if it hits the mark but I like it. I have called it Through the Looking Glass necklace.

A Good Book

Reading is another passion of mine. I cannot go to sleep at night without reading a few pages of the latest novel I am working my way through. I am not too fussy, nearly anything goes and the local library is kept busy by me. However up until now I have always just folded the corner of the page over (I know I can hear the gasps now) but I will not have to do that anymore. I have made three bookmarks that I made on Tuesday, purple, blue or red, take your pick. However I think I shall have to make some more as I have already decided to give one to my Mum for Mothers Day and keep one for myself. Anybody want to claim the third one.

Daisy Daisy, give me your answer do

Final make for this week. Once again I found some plastic flower shapes in my stash which I had forgotten about. I teamed these with some different styles of metal beads, amber coloured crystals and finally some white beads to tie in with the flower shapes. Once again I joined it all together with sections of chain. I have called it Metal Daisy Chain.
